The News and Angry Sex
You and your wife come together after a stressful day at work.
These times are so stressful. At home, when you wake up, the news is on the radio. You and your wife agreed that getting the weather, traffic, and headlines was important as you had a quick breakfast, made lunch, and head off to work.
But recently the headlines have all been about the government, the economy, and politics. As you get out of bed, you shake your head in frustration. “They can’t be that stupid.” “Are they trying to mess things up for ordinary people?” “This can’t be real; they must have another plan.” Turning off the radio, you head to the bathroom to clean up. Your wife is already there. She got up while you were listening to the headlines.
Wordlessly you shake your head and go to the kitchen to make coffee. “Maybe an English muffin will help with my mood.” You think as you fill the coffee maker and turn it on. You open the breadbox, there aren’t any English muffins. You check the freezer and remember that you said you would pick up more, the next time you went to the grocery store. You sigh and make some toast.
Your wife comes in, her hair damp from the shower, but she’s already dressed for work. “Good Morning Dear, the bathroom is all yours.”
